Versions: #1#2
Almost a month is gone
instead of a boyfriend I’ve got a ball
(Almost a month is gone
and you’re free, ha!)
It kind of looked like we would be fine together
For being from Žilina* he spoke fluent czech // == Slovak city

You gave me no flower for Valentine’s Day
(So he didn’t give it to you, so what)
I sit here with your sister and a liter of wine
Every sip I interleave with a milky Milka* // == chocolate
Chips have run out a little moment ago
(Stop eating so much)

You gave me no flower for Valentine’s Day
I expect you’ll at least invite me to the cinema
You’re hanging around somewhere, not even one message
You’re completely destroying me
Oh God, I’m such a coooo...ow...ow...ow
(Would you mind if I had a cigarette?)
I would.

I know that Valentine is just a promotional bubble,
But how am I supposed to resist? I’m the target group.
(I think Valentine is just a commercial holiday, it seems more logical to have a holiday on Mother’s day)
You're pregnant?
(No)
I see

Ok, so I will wait until the 1st of May, // ** in comment
maybe you’ll take me to Petřín hill, read me May under a cherry tree // **
(Ok, honey, I understand, May is a better holiday. My brother is a giant idiot, he’ll bring a carnation)

You gave me no flower for Valentine’s Day
(Don’t worry about it)
I sit here with your sister and a liter of wine
Every sip I interleave with a milky Milka
Hermelin* has run out a little moment ago // == camembert type cheese
(There’s still Emental)

You gave me no flower for Valentine’s Day
I’m fed up with cheese, my sweater is already too tight
You’re hanging around somewhere, not even one message
You’re completely destroying me
Oh God, I’m such a coooo...ow...ow...ow
(Do you really have to take it so hard?)

Author's comments:

** Karel Hynek Mácha wrote a romantic poem May, from which the "holiday" of 1st of May has been born.
On the 1st of May, lovers kiss under a cherry tree. If they're in Prague, they go to the Petřín hill, where there is a statue of Karel Hynek Mácha, and kiss under a tree there.
